SUGHERETA BY ANGIMBÈ
OUR LAND
An steeped area between history and unspoilt nature
BOUNDED BY:
ANGIMBÈ CORK OAK NATURAL OASIS
Our olive grove is immersed in the Angimbé cork oak forest natural reserve, a protected area without environmental contamination. The fruits of this land are healthy and genuine products, as the analyses carried out on our oils attest.
SEGESTA TAMPLE
Just two step away there is the Temple of Segesta, a mysterious and fascinating masterpiece that comes straight from Magna Grecia. The doric-style temple was built in the 5th century B.C. by the Elimians, on a cliff ledge. The temple has never been completed, leaving an aura of mystery about its location and existence.
AMPHITHEATRE OF SAGESTA
The amphitheatre of Segesta was built in the 3rd century b.c., on the northern side of the acropolis, and rises on the highest peak of Mt Barbaro, close to the gulf of Castellammare, providing a wonderful view of the hills as far as the eye can see and a glimpse of the sea.
A FABULOUS LAND FROM MILLENNIA
We maintain the thousand-year-old culture of olive oil alive in the province of Trapani
8th century b.c.
The first oil cultivation
The earliest olive cultivations in western Sicily are dated to the Phoenician domination period, an age when the region became an essential point in the navigators routes of the time.
7th century b.c, - 5th century a.d.
A land with great potential
In this period, the greeks for first, and the romans afterwards, having realised the potential of the Sicilian land and climate, carried on olive cultivation.
15th century a.d.
Increased oil requirement
In the Trapani area, there was an increase in the production of olive oil after a strong migration of Jews to Trapani. This increased the requirement of oil, due to the importance of the derivative in religious celebrations, but also for Jewish cuisine.
18 century a.c.
Olive cultivation explodes
The Bourbons exploited the rich soil and olive growing to create an economic revival of the territory. The historical material from the period, attests the massive deployment of resources used to revitalise oil production. Even the olive groves planted by the Spanish are still there today.
Today
Exccellent oil quality production
Thanks to the protected, uncontaminated territory, recognised with the "DOP Valli Trapanesi", the land offers refined quality and 100% natural oil.
