The Slow Food oil guide now also includes Angimbe!

2024 is a year full of recognition and satisfaction for Angimbe! Starting from the new edition just published, our Natures Organic Extra Virgin oil has been included in the prestigious Slow Food Guide to Extra Virgin Olive Oils.

The Guide to Slow Food Extra Virgin Olive Oils

The Guide to Extra Virgin Olive Oils is one of the most authoritative publications in the olive oil sector, now in its twenty-fourth edition. Every year, 125 expert tasters present in the area evaluate thousands of oils from all over Italy, from the olive grove to the bottle, selecting the best to be part of the guide.

Slow Food's work is not only intended to be an aid for professionals and consumers to orient themselves within the vast world of extra virgin olive oil, but also a precious tool for raising awareness of producers, encouraging readers to visit them.

The 2024 Edition

The 2024 edition reviews 1071 quality extra virgin oils from 686 companies, of which 483 are certified organic like ours. The book therefore also represents a snapshot of the olive growing situation in Italy.

Being included in this guide means being recognized for your superior quality and commitment to producing excellent extra virgin olive oil.

What is Slow Food

Slow Food is an international social promotion association founded in Italy in 1986 as a «Movement for the protection and right to pleasure». Since then, Slow Food has worked to promote a food culture based on quality, sustainability and social justice, proposing itself as an alternative to fast food and "fast life", with the aim of preserving local history and culinary traditions.

Slow Food Editore was founded in 1990 with the first publication "Osterie d'Italia, subsidiary of Italian-style eating", which is still a precious guide to discovering the Italian gastronomic tradition.

Through numerous initiatives such as the Slow Food Presidia, the Ark of Taste, Terra Madre, the Wine Bank, the University of Gastronomic Sciences (founded in 2004), and by organizing events such as the Salone del Gusto, Slow Food educates the public to conscious food choices, promoting the pleasure of conviviality and a respectful relationship with food and those who produce it.

"If “Fast-Life” in the name of productivity has changed our lives and threatens the environment and the landscape, “Slow Food” is today the avant-garde response. It is here in the development of taste and not in its impoverishment of true culture, from here progress can begin with the international exchange of stories, knowledge and projects".

Angimbe, Extra Virgin Slow Food

Inclusion in the Slow Food Guide is a further sign of Angimbe's commitment to quality and sustainable agriculture. Our farm, which likes to define itself as "Bioethics", is dedicated to organic cultivation, respecting the environment and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

This recognition adds to other important awards achieved this year, such as the Extra Gold Medal at the BIOL Award and the 4 drops of gold in the Bibenda 2024 guide, edited by the Italian Sommelier Foundation.

Each award motivates us to continue on the path we have undertaken, to improve ourselves every day to offer our customers a product of the highest quality, both from the point of view of taste and respect for the territory.
